From Friday March 16 to Sunday March 18 McKenzie Ross staff Monique McKinery and Julia Kelly, exhibited at the Altona Truck & Trade Show, which was held at the State Baseball Centre, highlighting the diversified insurance offerings of McKenzie Ross and demonstrating how ladies can knock it out of the ball park on all things trucking too.
There was a huge array of trucks on display from all facets of the trucking and transport industry as well as trade stalls, novelties, fire engines, displays, entertainment, market stalls and kid’s rides.
The festival supported local community groups and was attended by some 8,000 people. The event was a celebration of community and a showcasing of the transport industry, as well as the tough, hardworking, respectful and resourceful men and women that work in it. Both areas that McKenzie Ross is tremendously passionate about.
Aside from talking insurance, to keep the event fun and light hearted, Monique & Julia hosted games of giant jenga and an electric shock skill tester which both proved to be quite the crowd pleasers. Burly grown men shrieking was certainly not what we had anticipated from a trucking festival.
Aside from the McKenzie Ross staff, the festival also featured a host of trucking celebrities including reality TV stars, Yogi and Amanda Kendall and the legendary Steve Grahame from Outback Truckers, the big bad Demolition Man Lawrie Voutier, as well as famous New Zealand trucker Robbie ‘The Gooserooter from Geraldine’ Shefford.
We extend our thanks to our commercial insurance partners for their assistance and provision of novelty trucks, pens and drink bottles to give away to festival goers. A good time was had by all, and we look forward to supporting the next event.
