It’s a pub with a colourful past. For many 30 something’s it brings back memories of Sunday nights post Geebung and post Depot!
South Melbourne’s Star Hotel has started a new chapter with a massive overhaul. Gone are the blacked in windows and seediness of a bygone era. The interior has been dressed to resemble a beer garden with vertical gardens, synthetic grass flooring and lots of natural light.
The ground floor offers booth seating and table service while the adjacent public bar offers a more relaxed environment with television screens and bench seats.
Upstairs a DJ spins tunes all weekend taking advantage of the 3am liquor licence with rooftop bar.
The menu is available throughout the venue and offers the flexibility for you to order good pub grub with things like chicken parmigiana, black angus burger or scotch fillet, or share a number of smaller items or large platters including popular drinking food like pulled pork sliders and fried chicken wings. The drinks list is broad and reasonably priced.
